Short Biodata
He was born in Sulaiman Special Force Airbase - Indonesian National Air Force Hospital, Bandung, west Java, Indonesia in 1970. He received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Kanazawa University, Japan in 1995 and 1997, respectively (Subsurface Radar Systems) and the Ph.D. degree in Artificial System Sciences (Applied Radio Wave and Radar Systems) from Chiba University, Japan in 2002. From 1990 to 1999, he was a Researcher with the Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology, Jakarta and Education and Training Commando - Indonesian National Army (TNI-AD), Bandung, Indonesia. Then he was a Research Assistant in the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University, Japan in 2000 to support his study in doctoral program. He was with the Center for Frontier Electronics and Photonics, Chiba University, Japan as a Lecturer - Post Doctoral Fellowship Researcher. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University and as a Visiting Lecturer/Professor in many Universities.

His main interests are theoretically scattering wave analysis and its applications in microwave (radar) remote sensing, especially synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and subsurface radar (VLF and Microwave), analysis and design of printed antennas for mobile satellite communications and SAR.

He is a member of the IEEE, IEICE, the Japan Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (JSPRS) and Remote Sensing Society Japan (RSSJ). He is reviewer of IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letter (GRSL), International Journal of Remote Sensing, IET Microwave, Antenna and Propagation (IET MAP) or former IEE MAP, Asian Journal of Geoinformatics, Journal of Environmental Informatics, International Journal of Remote Sensing and Earth science(IJReSES), Journal Regional Environmental Change (REC) and others. He is also the evaluator/reviewer of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Belgian Earth Observation Programme - Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) etc. He received many awards and research grants related his researches and studies, and promoted many students [list] from around the world.

He manages Microwave Remote Sensing Laboratory, Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University, Japan. His laboratory promotes the education and research to develope the internationally technologies and sciences. He always encourages the undergraduate and postgraduate students to know the microwave phenomenons and to be familiar with the interaction between microwave and natural matters (i.e. vegetation, artificial materials, earth surface, snow), therefore they could develope original methods or sensor during the courses.

Away from work, he enjoys ethnic foods, travel and cycling.
